As a major engineering and design consultancy responsible for such projects as London’s ‘Gherkin’, the Sydney Opera House, The Empire State Building and the world’s first carbon neutral city in China, Arup recognises its responsibility towards social, environmental and economic stability and String Films were very happy to help them communicate their messages.

Arup’s Foresight & Innovation team commissioned us to make a short film that they could show to their teams of engineers working on major construction projects around the world. The purpose of the film was to summarize several possible ‘futures’ that had been identified by the company, focusing on environmental, economic and social change over the coming twenty years.

The film needed to effectively communicate the importance and scale of these issues, whilst at the same time, encouraging the viewers to feel empowered and inspired to develop solutions.
